My name is Julius and I am on a mission to find a loving home and family. I am tall, blonde, and handsome and ready for love.
I am an Akita/Shepherd mix and I am fortunate that I possess ONLY the positive characteristics of both! Like Akitas and Shepherds, I am alert, courageous, faithful, and intelligent. I am however, also laid back and very well mannered. I am good with other dogs and children. I would like to have a family as I love companionship and affection. I will also be protective of my loved ones.
I was a stray, and a rescuer came just to take my pictures to get me some help, but flies were eating the ends of my ears and she was afraid maggots would set in, not to mention I was 15 lbs underweight. So she saved me right then and took me to the vet. The vet says I am a fine fellow, very well mannered and that some family will adore me! Boy, I hope so cause I have been on my own awhile.
Akitas are considered good luck and they say someone will be very lucky to have a great dog like me. I had hook worms, whip worms and round worms, but have been treated, and received my vaccines. I am scheduled to be neutered(yuck!) and micro chipped. They are taking donations to treat me for heartworms. Otherwise, I am healthy and ready for a home. I weigh 76 lbs , but I should weigh about 90lbs. I am only two years old and look forward to a long , loving relationship.

Some say I look like a cartoon character since I am a lab-basset-corgi mix. They say I look like somebody stole my legs!!! They are trying to be silly like me. I am very goofy and silly, but I am a loving fella too. I am definitely unique!!! I am short but fat. They say I need to lose some weight but I am not convinced.
I am neutered, current on vaccines, micro chipped and heartworm negative and on prevention. I am looking for a new best friend that I can entertain with my antics. I am 4 years old and a little heavy but in great shape. I like my belly rubbed and my ears scratched.

We were called out to an abandoned house three weeks ago where someone had moved and left nine 6 week old puppies and a mother dog chained to a stake in the ground. We went expecting the worse and thats what we saw. The mail lady was kind enough to buy pans and food and the puppies were so cute---five of them were sitting IN the pan eating crunchies.
Then we saw her. I have never seen such a pitiful dog. She was chained to a stake in the ground, she was very thin with ribs showing, her teats were literally dragging the ground, she was covered with biting flies, but her eyes are what got us.....the saddest eyes. She let us take her puppies one by one to the car. She was very sweet. She put her feet up on us as if to say "please dont leave me here". We thought she might be in trouble because we had never seen a dogs teats so swollen, so we took her immediately to the vet. She rode so nicely and would look up over the seat ever so often to give me a "thank you" look with those eyes.
We named her Rita Lolita. And she has broken our hearts, warmed our hearts, and reminded us of the wonder of dogs and how precious they are. She lived on that chain for two years with a severe ear infection in both ears, I cannot imagine how miserable she was chained like that during the heat of summer with the flies and the cold of winter. Not to mention coming onto heat and not being able to escape the male dogs. Several litters of unwanted puppies. She has oboviously been mistreated, bearing the scars over her body. There is no hair behind her ears from scratching to relieve the pain. There is a small chunk of ear missing. Her eyes tell her story.
But, through it all she is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever rescued. She gets such joy from the simplest of things. She particularly likes balls as you will see in the videos.The girls at the vet have fallen in love with her and buy her treats when she visits. Yeah, she is just an average looking brown dog, but she is WONDERFUL and she deserves to know what it is like to have a loving home and be treated with respect. She is beautiful to all who know her. She wags her tail now and has started giving kisses. She likes to "talk" now too. Her trust and confidence is growing everyday. She is getting medicine twice daily to relieve/correct her ear infections, and will be treated for heartworms. She has been vaccinated, spayed, and micro chipped. Feeney is sparkly, affectionate, and just LIVES for belly rubs.
She survived hurricanes Katrina and Rita, only to end up in the hands of a neglectful owner (who was later arrested on cruelty charges). This poor pup has been through so much and she’s still so vibrant and sweet!

It’s so amazing how dogs can forgive what one heartless human had done to them with just some kindness from another. Rock wants to bond so much with a human it’s just unreal. He just wants a human touch …..a human’s tender loving care! He has a most wonderful temperament and would do anything to please you.
His mom that rescued him and Rock is currently working on kennel training, let’s go, walking on a leash, sit, off, leave it (cat), potty, and quite and I am very impressed with both of them. CSP is dedicated to aiding and helping animal rescue groups efforts of rescuing and saving the lives of homeless and abused animals in the Piedmont Triad and surrounding areas.
Adopting and placing them in loving, permanent homes while providing programs to reduce pet over-population.
